Hi,
I'm wanting to use Arena for Led mapping instead of Madmapper because I find sending content from Arena to syphon and Madmapper can get messy and some lag issues. The setup is the Enttec Pixelator and 24 plinks (2 uni's each for every one plink) and 22 5m rolls of led pixel tape. I was wondering if anyone can help or guide me in the set up of this on Arena sides as i'm struggling a bit with getting to grips with using arena for led mapping.
Thanks,
Craig
48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
I've been told by the developers that a single network interface lags at around 30 universes. How many machines are you planning to use?
Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
One for now but that could change if needed. I'm also having the issue of not being able to fully light up a full strip (5m 300 pixel) I can get two halfs but still missing out some pixels. Any idea behind that too?
Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
Sounds like an addressing problem. You probably get up to 512 channels, may be in how the device is setup.
Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
I have managed to get full strip minus one or two pixels (Only lets me go to 510) I have attached screenshots so you can see my fixture. Is it possible to change the pixel size in Arena? Also I now have 3 strips going but they are all mirroring each other and when I create an new lumiverse nothing happens and I can't control the 2nd or 3rd strip. Puzzled by this and there isn't that much info on this sadly.
Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
you have to assign each Lumiverse to artnet universes in Preferences - DMX.when I create an new lumiverse nothing happens and I can't control the 2nd or 3rd strip
do you drive rgb, pixels?I have managed to get full strip minus one or two pixels (Only lets me go to 510)
then each pixel will need 3 channels of dmx, that's why you get 170 pixels out of 510 channels, and no more.

Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
Ahh, Thanks for that. Such a stupid mistake. Yeah have control now. Driving RGB 60 pixel 5m rolls of pixel tape. I know this can be done in MM but can I split it into two? Say that I split two 170's over 2 universes (Using the plink) and this should give me full strip no pixels missing or I just have to live with one-two pixels being out and no way to fix this at all?
Cheers for the help you are very kind.

Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
resolume does not support splitting/spanning fixtures thru multiple lumiverses as far as I know,Say that I split two 170's over 2 universes (Using the plink) and this should give me full strip no pixels missing or I just have to live with one-two pixels being out and no way to fix this at all?
surely the pixelator can set where a pixel gets it's data from - this should be a common problem.
(if not, you could try a dirty workaround like this:
place 171 pixels RGB fixture, last pixel's B channel will not fit into the lumiverse,
then in the next lumiverse you 'd place a 130 pixel BRG fixture continuing the strip.
this way your strips would at least have no black pixels. )

Re: 48 Universe led pixel mapping help?
Assuming you're using Enttec hardware to inject data into the Plink, it will let you do up to 340 RGB pixels by summing up two Artnet universes:
As a note, rather than creating one 1x170 or two 2x85 fixture(s) per universe, it might be easier to manage your LEDs in Arena with seventeen 1x10 fixtures that you can patch together.
So if you're doing 340 RGB pixels, you'd have to output two artnet streams from Arena where U1 would be using channels 1-510 and U2 1-510.from the pixelator manual wrote:Each PLink 2U module has 2 input nodes that can beconnected to two Ethernet streams. Top one (U1) ismapped to the First universe and Bottom one (U2) ismapped to the Second universe relative to the pixel-tape.

Thanks for all the help guys, I got it up and running now.
