Midi Effect select on channels

Is it possible to activate an effect with midi notes on a channel. Cause now I need! a keyboard equivalent for effects, and I would like to use my keyboard with an CTRL key or something with the midi note to put it on a channel. Is this possible?

Perhaps the BIS notes? Bart/Edwin?

I'm bumping this back up, also interested in doing this. Triggering global effects is great, but I would like to trigger effects for the active channel using MIDI.
