Audio Video not in sync

Hello,
I had a problem playing a film today, video and audio were out of sync. The problem got worse the longer I played.
The embarrassment is over, but I don't need that again.
The facts,
-Computer of mine (always everything problem free, but otherwise I play my own stuff and don't have a playtime of almost two hours for one file).
-files supplied ( video h264, audio ffmpeg, 24 fps), I know that's not ideal for Resolume).
-The audio output was via a driverless usb device (not mine)
-Transport set to timeline
VLC and OBS played flawlessly, but with onboard sound.
What could have caused this?
What do I have to watch out for so that this doesn't happen again?

Hey not sure if you've found a fix, however the way i managed to fix audio video sync issue is by turning down the buffer size in the audio settings on resolume
