Multiple Patches open/ instances of wire

Post by cat »

Not being able to have 2 patches open means that if you have to use help to find out what something does, you have to save, close what you are working on, look up something in help, and copy it, reopen your previous patch, paste, its such a faff, either multiple instances of wire running at once, or multiple patches would be very useful. Help where you have to close your work is pretty dumb, you need a written manual, or multiple windows... preferably and tbh.

Hey, it's true that's not the easiest thing for sure but for now this is a nice site to help you out in the meantime https://www.2fourk.com/wire-tools/wireNodeDB

the web page is 404

Multiple instances of wire or multiple patches in wire, would still beat a website tbh. Also currently no way to share snippets between patches, ie put them into a library you can access as nodes or patch snippets.

For sure but as long as that's not there, this website, which works fine for me btw, is a alternative. And it also has a snippet library of stuff you use a lot just, copy and paste it into your wire patch

can you tell me what I can do with it or maybe how to open it in a proper way? For me it looks like this no matter which browser I'm using. I can also open it in Google Sheets which looks exactly the same.

Oh, I am sorry guys. I posted the wrong link! this is the database of all the different notes in Wire that he made but if you check out this link it will give you screenshots of all the different reference manuals.

And here he collected some snippets of wire patches, which you can just copy and paste into wire, which saves you quite a bit of time doing repeating functions.

hope this helps
