DVD-Max/Theatre mode overlay question (groan)

Post by continuity-B »

Just got my new laptop, an acer 5024WLMi with ati X700 card

Can't get overlay mode to appear in display properties of windows - I get a the generic options when I hit the advanced tab, not the full ati/omega one I'm used to on my desktop that give you the overlay (theatre mode) options.

Can only use (it seems) my manufacturers (acer's) ati drivers. tried omega'a too but that resulted in me getting the restore discs out after only a few minutes of using my machine, think they have mobile X700 issues.

I'm not sure but I swear they were there at first, but not after the restore discs.

I can get resolume to work fine with 'extended desktop' mode but I like theatre mode for my other video apps and I miss it!

Any solutions?

Ah I think I need to download the Ati CCC separately from ATi, don't think it came with my acer drivers.....
