Hello! I have got Resolume Arena, and I'm hoping to make a music video for a song I have made.
I am using Ableton 11 Suite as my DAW. I've managed to link it to resolume so that I can play my track in Ableton and use the session view to trigger visual clips, trigger them manually in Resolume, or with a MIDI controller.
However I want to be able to line up the various video clips to play alongside certain parts of my track in a predictable fashion, so that I can build up a video. I've done some research and watched a bunch of youtube content, but it all seems to focus on ad-hoc live performances rather than planning out a visual arrangement.
In an ideal world, I'd like to be able to put MIDI clips into the arrangement timeline in Ableton that will trigger the various video clips in Resolume. Is this possible? I can't seem to take clips from the session view into the arrangement view and have them trigger the video clips in Resolume; nothing happens when I copy a session view clip into arrangement view.
I have also seen a video by TAS Visuals on youtube where it looks like he is using automation lanes within ableton to control the parameters within Resolume, as well as MIDI notes that trigger certain clips, pulses of clips etc (for example every 1/4 note on the kick, a video clip is triggered).
Is there any way to be able to use Ableton or something within Resolume to arrange the trigger points for the video clips? Can I use automation lanes within Ableton and direct them into Resolume to control automation here, instead of using the Resolume Envelopes?
Thanks in advance for any pointers here!

hey! Happy to help when I can. I'm leaving the country tomorrow morning for a week.

These are a max4live MIDI to OSC plugin suite. (if you're on ableton studio)
you can set the clip / layer in the plug in, and basically hit C-2, and have it trigger clip 1, layer 1. and chromatically work your way up. So that's totally doable.
Alternative -
IF you're on a mac, use the IAC driver to send MIDI from ableton to Resolume.
You can map each clip to a particular note, and same thing, when you hit that note - it'll trigger a clip.
I'd recommend piano mode for the clips, so you can draw the midi note as long as you want it to go.
//. RE: session vs arrangement.
When you're copying from session to arragement, are you turning off "back to arrangement" ( https://imgur.com/a/otIMWSd ).
if you send me some pictures of your set up, i can try and help.
