So I have an answer to the problem.
It is all about the network. As zoltán pointed out that it is not a happy camper being on a network link with other traffic on it is 100% the problem. Thank you Zoltán for the comment about network traffic. I would have never tried a direct connection without it. Who would have imagined that it partially works with all but one part.
It is very poor development from pioneer on it functioning correctly with standard tcp/ip traffic
Why would they ever think that a computer would never need to be on a network that has internet or even a backup machine connected.
The fact that it partially works is even more infuriating.
I have a somewhat complex network setup with 4 computers at foh. Two lighting and two resolume with one being a backup resolume machine. Many different protocols running on 8 nics. And I can't add a third physical nic to the resolume computers. So now to put on my IT hat and install a managed switch/router and making virtual nics and vlans.
Again way more complex than it ever needs to be. The staff can barely work the computer as is. And now I'm going to complicate it so much that any troubleshooting will have to be done by me or an it professional. FFS!
oh and yes I read the warning about vlans from pioneer.
Fun fun fun.
Again i hope this helps anyone in the future that has an issue.
