Delay popping up out of nowhere

I'm trying to connect the output of a Video Mixer to Colorize, and when I do so, a Delay appears between them for no apparent reason.
Deleting the delay completely breaks the connection.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or I just don't know what I'm doing

You're only getting a delay node if you make some sort of feedback loop somewhere so somewhere and outputs roots back to the input
