Text block to display a $variable?

Text block to display a $variable?

I'd like to figure out a way for Text Block to display current Column# and maybe The one next to it.
Is it possible from within the app? Should I try my luck with the webserver?
What is the way to go?

Text fields don't support getting variable values, but you can send these to the fields via OSC or the API.
