Connecting Traktor to Resolume

Post by MACC »

Hello,

I'd like to record a few promo sets at home and I'd like for them to become flawlessly synced with the audio. I have Traktor running the dj set on the background and I'd like to know if there's any way to use some kind of midi app to bridge Traktor's BPM and feed it straight to Resolume.

Thank you very much!

Will Midi Yoke do the trick?

midi yoke can allow applications to send midi between them, so you could send the midi clock from traktor to resolume, but it will only control the internal clock of resolume, it wont trigger clips, only make them play at a speed relative to the main clock.

the other thing to bear in mind is there will be latency between the apps and that video is more latent than audio, so to make sure they are "flawlesly" synched, you will need the midi clock to be sent in advance or the audio in traktor to be triggered late.

Thank you very much!

I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'll just analyze the set and try to get some with constant bpm and manually input them on Resolume.

For syncing Resolume and Traktor using Midi Clock is the way to go.
For other things you might consider OSC, i believe that Traktor supports the OSC control. I don't know wether it's able to send OSC though. But you might give it a shot.
More about OSC in our manual.
