Better Recovery for intermittant connections

Post by ianscott1024 »

Hi team,

I’d like to request an improvement to how Resolume Arena handles intermittent video output connections—particularly in environments where static electricity or slight cable movement can momentarily interrupt a display connection.

At the moment, if an output connector drops out even for a split second, Arena often disables that screen in Advanced Output. When the signal returns, the output stays disabled and has to be manually clicked back on. During a show this can be quite disruptive, especially when the physical cause (like static discharge) is outside of our control.

Proposed Feature:
Auto-reconnect output after loss setting that automatically re-enables an output when its connection returns after a brief dropout. When this option is enabled, Arena could also display a warning to the user indicating that automatic reconnection is active, as unexpected behaviour may occur if cables or hardware are unstable.

This would greatly improve reliability during live events where momentary interruptions, such as static discharge or minor cable movement which can temporarily break the signal.

This would greatly improve reliability in touring, theatre, and live event conditions where cable or environmental issues can cause momentary disconnects.

This is the most common phone call i get from other operators when handing over a production, that the displays are there but advanced output after power cycle, sleep etc has made the outputs virtual
