How to assign different MIDI notes to opacity of copies of the same clip?

Post by SparklyArray »

I have an LED setup with three columns of LEDs.

I would like to map three different MIDI buttons in piano mode to turn these columns on and off. In effect, as long as I hold button A down, column A is on. When I stop pressing button A, column A turns off. The same for columns B and C.

I have used the Solid Color source to fill in each of the columns. There are three copies of Solid Color; each of them fills one column. All copies are on the same layer. After assigning the three copies of Solid Color to three different MIDI notes, I am able to turn the clips on. But I cannot set the clip itself to piano mode so the clips will not turn off when I release the key.

I can, however, use Piano Mode on the clip's opacity. This way, when I release the key, the clip will still be selected, but at least it will be invisible. Works for me.

Now to my problem: The MIDI mapping for opacity across the three clips appears to be shared. In fact, even copies in different layers now have the same MIDI note control opacity. How do I make Resolume not do that?

If you select those clips and you right-click or go to the clip menu there is a trigger style option that you can set to piano for clips. It's not done through the midi shotcut panel but through the clip settings.

If you assign a midi knob or button in the settings, you can assign a target. Now it is set to "selected clip" you have to change it to "this clip".

Hope that helps you out....
