Hello, Resolumers!
Having moved up to Resolume Avenue, I can finally close out my Windows partition and do all my mixing on the Mac side. Which also means I can move up to a Firewire 800 drive (my MPB has no eSATA interface, sadly).
As I look into different models, I know buffer/cache is important, and an SSD is the best of all if I can afford it (but I suspect I can't). But I did have a question for all those who got there first: Does bus-powered vs. AC powered make a difference?
Obviously, bus-powered would be preferable, as I already have more cords than a man should have. But will I suffer a performance hit if power and video are moving down the same FW800 connection, or is it not relevant?
Much thanks for any guidance!
