Recording cuts off at 12 seconds.

Firs of all thanks for the update! I am using 4.1.11. I am trying to record and it keeps stopping between 12 and 14 seconds, I have plenty of storage. I just tried it in 4.1.8 and it did the same thing as well. Before i was able to record clips longer than this. Any ideas?

You're most likely running out of memory.

If recording suddenly stops, this is because you have run out of memory. When recording, Resolume tries to write the rendered frame immediately. This is done at a very low priority, because you don't want this to interfere with the actual output. So when it's too busy (lots of effects/clips/pixels), it stores the rendered frame in memory, and tries to write it later. At a certain point, when the memory is 90% full, it will stop recording and write the remaining frames in memory.

I had seen that in the manual but didn't think it could be possible for me with this mbp. I have 16gigs and i was using smaller size videos. It just doesn't add up to me for some reason.

you are running out of process memory,
it doesn't matter that you have 16 GB system ram, Resolume 4 can not use them all.
eg on 32 bit OS a process can use only 2 GB ram, that is OS limitation,
Resolume 4 is a 32 bit application.

you can lover your composition resolution, and the clip count in the deck you are trying to record if you need longer recording time.

If you're making a normal recording (as opposed to live sampling during a show), a good alternative is Syphon Recorder.
