Hi,
I recently changed my notebook and I started having a nag blink when I have more than one layer, as follows:
The top layer blinks sometimes letting show the contents of the lower layer, no matter if it is at 100% opacity or what blen mode I choose. I have no effects applied. When I clear the lower layer, It stops happening.
If I choose the "disable global effects and blend modes", the problem desapears. Of course this is note the solution... I need to use them.
In program monitor everything is fine, but output display show this flickering. No matter if the display is a full screen, or a simple window on current display.
I have a HP Envy J009 whith AMD A8 APU with Radeon 8550g. Originally with Windows 8, now updated 8.1 and the latest AMD drivers, with no luck.
All other programs and games installed works fine here. Video card seems to work at a good speed.
Any help?
Thanks (and excuse my bad english).

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's probably your GPU! What size composition are you working with? Take a look at this link: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.p ... n+HD+8550G
Also, I looked at the specs for your computer (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... c=en&lc=en)and having a 5400 rpm HD doesn't help at all!

Re: screen out blink
Yes, I understand that this card has lower performance compared with high level cards. But it is not the case, I'm working at 1280x720 with 2 layers and I get a nice 40 / 50 fps performance... enough for me.Oaktown wrote:I'm not 100% sure but I think it's probably your GPU! My problem is random blinking between layers, that seems to be a resolume / video card conflict.
Yes, It has a 5400 rpm drive, but like I wrote before this is not a performance problem, hard drive speed has nothing to do with screen blinking.Oaktown wrote:Also, I looked at the specs for your computer (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... c=en&lc=en)and having a 5400 rpm HD doesn't help at all!
Re: screen out blink
Can you check the log to see which version of OpenGL that card supports / uses ?
You can access the log by going into Resolume > Feedback > View Log and then scroll down to the part where it says 'Main OpenGL Renderer'.

Here:

Re: screen out blink
Hmmm. That should be more than enough.
AMD has a track record of doing this sort of stuff on different driver updates. Since you mention you're already on the latest driver, could you try rolling back a few?

Re: screen out blink
I used an older driver (wich cames pre-installed), then I installed the official HP display driver update, and then the last amd drivers, with no luck in all cases. I cannot roll back more because in older drivers this card is not supported.Joris wrote:AMD has a track record of doing this sort of stuff on different driver updates. Damn AMD!
Re: screen out blink
That sucks. Drop us a line through the feedback tab. Maybe we can figure something out from there....
