Midi FOOT Controller

Post by nomeencuentro »

Does anybody have used a midi FOOT controller to change parameters, activate a video or an effect without latency with Resolume?

I play strings and have no more hands to change videos while playing in concert.

Please some good advice would be very appreciated.

I have a BCF Behringer, and once I tried (in the store) the midi foot controller for the BCF but unfortunately it has like 8 pedals and all of them hat the same CC.

Thanks
Mauricio

I've used the behringer fcb1010 with succes and no delay. You have to adjust the notes manually with third party software http://www.voes.be/fcb1010/software.htm

chrz!

Hello, thanks for your answer!

Which editor did you use?
Could you programmed each of the 10 food controls independently? So each do a different action?

That food controller is connected in your computer or to another Midi?
Do you use another Midi Controller also?

Thanks
Mauricio

You should be able to edit midi settings without third party software.
Or at least that's what it says when I RTFM.
You can change pedals to send notes etc.
You don't need a computer nor third party software to achieve this.
Good luck.

I can't really remember what exactly was going wrong but i did have to use the third party software...

I connected the midi-out to an m-audio midi to usb converter (something like this: http://static.musiciansfriend.com/deriv ... 701379.jpg).

Set your controller to send cc notes and you will be able to control each pedal individually.

Hello

Thanks very much for your cooperation.
I would like to buy this Pedal Midi Controller Behringer, but would like to understand how could I program it directly with Resolume.
Do you think I could do it without a third party software? I hacve read the Manual but couldn't find it how to.

Currently, I program the Resolume with a Midi Controller Behringer BCF, with CCs.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks
Mauricio

If you want a device that works out of the box and doesn't need thrid party software you probably should be looking for a USB midi footcontroller. Something like this for example: http://www.gear4music.be/nl/Keyboards-a ... oCAhzw_wcB
Since the fcb1010 has no usb you need to have a midi2usb device in between the controller and your computer...

Thanks Thelooca

Once I researched a bit about another recommended Keith MC Millen Foot Midi Controller: http://www.gear4music.be/nl/Opname-and- ... roller/IKX

They explained me that device has CC controllers to map.
But it is necessary to map it in a Keith Mc Millen software. I guess is the same with the SoftStep model that you have shared with me.

I am quite sceptic to buy something that won't work at the end...

Comments? :ugeek:
