Resolume and Ableton on the same machine with no network

Post by KAutobahn »

Hey guys.

I have been trying to setup Resolume 4 and Ableton Live 9 on the same PC. I know it's not ideal, but it's all I have for now. Nothing worked properly until I saw the Max for Live stuff you guys posted on your blog.

It works great when you're connecting 2 computers on a cable or even on the same PC provided you are connected to a LAN. But I can't prepare or test stuff at home because I only have one computer and no internet. I signed up here to ask for a solution, but I ended up finding one myself so I though I'd share it.

I'm not sure if you guys have covered this. Did a quick search and couldn't find anything so hopefully this will help anybody who is trying to do the same thing I am.

Use the following ip address 127.0.0.1 . It is a loopback ip. Yay ! :)

You can use either 127.0.0.1 or configure a preset location by setting a fixed IPv4 address and subnet mask so that you can move you computer in and out of an exisiting network and keep the same network address when you work at home.
