Could not find a topic already so Ill post this here.
I am running Arena 4.2.1 on windows so I dont know how this applies to mac. If you save an advanced output layout with special characters in the name (: or / for example), Resolume will still try to save the file and obviously fail as special characters are not allowed in file names on windows. This results in advanced output setups not loading when you next start Resolume.
I think there should be a check to not allow special characters in the advanced output name.
Advanced output names
Re: Advanced output names
Ah yes. We already do a check for forward slash ( / ) in comp names, and those are stripped before saving. We'll need to do the same on the output presets. Thanks for letting us know!
Btw, are you sure colon ( : ) gives problems as well? That one seems to work fine on comp and output saving for me.

Re: Advanced output names
Using : saves the composition in Arena's memory, but it does not actually write the xml file so when you restart Arena and then change output setups you cant get back to the one with a : because it doesnt exist.
I have tested this behavior on two different windows machines in Arena 4.2.1.

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Apparently : is allowed on Mac, but not on Windows. I'll make a ticket for that as well.
In general, it's wise to avoid special names with special characters altogether. We try our best to filter, but in the end you're creating files, and sometimes the computer just says no.
