Hi!
When I copy virtual output, it show image from source output in slice, besides I reopen Advanced Output settings.
Virtual Output copy problem
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
Not sure I understand your question but if you are trying to use a virtual output as a source for a slice you would create a new screen and assign that virtual ouptut as the input source to a slice or slices. The name of the screen which is the virtual output you want to use as a source will show up in the drop down menu.
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
Let's say I created virtual output screen (screen 1), then copied it (screen 2).
Then I've set slice 1 input to screen 1, slice 2 input to screen 2, and edited screen 2.
After all slice 2 still show image from screen 1 until I reopen advanced output window.

Re: Virtual Output copy problem
What do you see when you reopen?
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
All right, when I reopen advanced output.
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
I'm still not sure I understand the workflow.
- You make a copy of screen #1 so now you have two screens #1 & #2.
You create two slices in screen #2, slices #1 & #2.
You set screen #1 as the input for slice 1 and screen #2 as the input for slice #2.
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
I created two slices in another screen.
Re: Virtual Output copy problem
To help Oaktown, me and everyone else understand your problem, could you please describe your steps starting from creating a new preset?
Like:
- Create a new preset
- Create three screens in total
- Set screen 1 and 2 to virtual
- Create two slices in total in screen 3
- .....
etc...
That will help us recreate and understand your problem.

Re: Virtual Output copy problem
I'll shot video later. But that's my steps:
1) create new preset.
2) create screen 1, which is real output, for example, datapatch.
3) create screen 2, it's virtual output. It takes left part of composition. Let's name it left.
4) set slice 1 input on screen 1 to screen 2 (left).
5) copy screen 2, name it right. It takes right part of composition.
6) create slice 2 on screen 1.
7) set slice 2 input on screen 1 to screen 3 (right).
Then both slice 1 and slice 2 takes image from screen 2 (left) even if I change screen 3 (right) until I close and open advanced output.

Re: Virtual Output copy problem
I followed the steps from above. I recorded a video that recreates the problem. I also managed to create a feedback loop
After saving the preset xml I checked it and it looks like it is saving and loading the file correctly - I think the problem is in the advanced output interface and not in the saved preset file. When you restart Arena the problem goes away until you start changing the advanced output.
In my video I think I also swapped the input of left and right screens but that doesnt matter for the demo.
