Best way to convert MP4 to DXV Windows

Post by emileoudejans »

Hi

I'm really struggling to figure out the best way to convert my MP4 video's to DXV. Mpeg Streamclip for some reason doesn't seem to read the MP4 files so I'm resorted to convert to standard MOV first via WinX Video Converter and then to DXV via Mpeg Streamclip. Needless to say it's very time consuming.

Is there no better solution around this? Feel like there's something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance :)

I use adobe media encoder.
The CC version has a match source switch for all properties, and it can watch a folder for files to convert,
these features make it very handy to use with a DXV preset.
Software developer, Sound Engineer,
Control Your show with ”Enter” - multiple Resolume servers at once - SMPTE/MTC column launch

Adobe Media Encoder CC is by far the best thing out there and you can use it as a stand alone application but it's expensive!

A great alternative is to use Quicktime 7 Pro for Windows which is a on time fee of $29.99.

But is no longer supported by Apple and has several un-patched flaws making it an extreme security liability such that Homeland Security in the USA is advising people to uninstall it.

Refer to this thread about the Quicktime concerns
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13266

Requires you to visit a malicious web page or open a malicious file.

Ways to avoid the vulnerability are:
Don't install Quicktime Web based plugin (just uncheck optional features)
Don't open files from unkown sources.

You can go further by disabling things like "auto play movies when opened" and "instant-on"
