I haven't tried that but I will...the brightness issue was an opacity setting...but overall I still am not getting the same clarity in Resolume that I am when I play the movie in Quicktime.

The converted .mov file is smaller than the original .mp4.

I was able to get it sorted out...my setting in the composition did not match the capture setting, once I corrected that it worked fine. Thanks for your help!

I think about this kind of Stuff:

or

http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-Pl ... dmi+record

I think, cheaper then a capture card & a 2nd Laptop and they say it records 1080p. Anyone ever tested this stuff ?
I've been curious about this approach too. Did you ever find anything else about this approach? I certainly like the ability to capture to flash usb storage, not requiring a separate computer. I had purchased a Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express-Thunderbolt, to capture to my other MacBook Pro (Early 2012) model, but the specs to capture full 1080p without frame drops, was way beyond my computer's ability (7200rpm hd). Even running the Black Magic speed test on my Macbook pro with an internal SSD showed it was not fast enough.

So far i didnt try any of these gaming recording stuff.
I recorded a few small videos with open broadcaster and had bad quality when i activated more hungry effects ( like blure / rgb delay..). Maybe here is some trick as well or my system is just noch powerfull enough. ( win 7 , 16gb ram / 770m gforce..)

If anyone try this gaming stuff pls tell us the behaviour of these
