Blackmagic Ultrastudio on MAC V4.2.1

Post by christianlewis »

Hi there, I am running a session using 2 x black magic ultra studio 4K capture devices on MAC OS X 10.10.3 running version 4.2.1. These work as expected and I am using them on multiple layers for different sizing control. After a random amount of time, if the sources are showing correctly on output and i click to preview them on a different column or layer cell they appear to have lost some colour and are semi transparent. If I select a different input resolution and reselect the correct one the input comes back as expected, but if I have this source live obviously this is not possible to do without taking it off output, so this can cause issues. Anyone else found this issue? or any ideas on how to stop this happening? I'm using HDMI inputs on both at 1920x1080P resolutions

Many thanks in advance

Have you tried using the layer router for your setup?

If not, here is what I would do:
  • put your two capture clips in L1 and L2
set these two clips to ignore column triggers
turn the opacity of these two layers to 0
now wherever you were resizing capture clips, use a layer router clip with L1 or L2 as input
Test this and see if you get the same behavior when you preview your layer router clips.
