Hello,
maybe there is a simple solution for my question, but after a few hours testing i wasn't able to get this working. i have two outputs, stage and ceiling, and my goal is to play different footages on each one from a single composition. the composition has five layers, four of them should use only the stage output (they are added together), the fifth one only the ceiling output. so, under outputs->advanced i can assign layer5 to the ceiling output. the stage output has as input source the composition, which i want to change because layer5 goes to stage and ceiling with that setting. how would i do that ? i tried different things like four slices with each layer as input source, but in that case the output on screen shows the merged layers, but on the stage output only the highest layer is displayed...
thanks!
Map Layers to different outputs
Re: Map Layers to different outputs
Bit of a bodge, and potentially limiting in the future, but:
Layer 6 top layer, content for “stage”
Layer 5, content for “stage”
Layer 4, content for “stage”
Layer 3, content for “stage”
Layer 2, Solid Black, stops layers below showing through.
Layer 1, Bottom layer, content for Ceiling - set as source in layer on advanced output.
Layer 6 top layer, content for “stage”
Layer 5, content for “stage”
Layer 4, content for “stage”
Layer 3, content for “stage”
Layer 2, Solid Black, stops layers below showing through.
Layer 1, Bottom layer, content for Ceiling - set as source in layer on advanced output.

Re: Map Layers to different outputs
This is a better idea! I keep forgetting about groups!Oaktown wrote:Resolume 6 > 2 groups > each group to its own screen/slice(s)
Re: Map Layers to different outputs
Why not make your comp twice as high and use Slice Transforms to position your content where you need it?
Re: Map Layers to different outputs
thanks for the replies, that's a lot of stuff to try. We haven't switched to Resolume 6 yet, but the solution with the groups sounds promising. I'll try the other suggestions on R5 in the next few days, thank you a lot !
