Hello I have a project and need build a computer for them.
I have:
- 6 x Full HD Projectors
- 1 x 1920*256 pixeis Led Wall
- 1 x Screen LCD (Full HD or 2k)
(optional) - 1 x Screen for monitoring
I think in this configuration:
CPU: i7 - 8700 - 3.2Ghz
GPU: 2 x HP Nvidia Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5
RAM: 32Gb DDR4-2666 (Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666 C16 4x8GB)
SSD: Samsung Evo 500Gb
Motherboard: Asus Z370-A
Power Supply: SEASONIC FOCUS+ 650W (ou Corsair GOLD equivalente)
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper H411R
ATX Box: (?)
Fans: (?)
Thanks in advance.
Kristey

Re: Video Mapping - 6 Projector + 1 led wall + 1 Screen
Greetings,
So the application of the system you want to build will kind of determine where best to go with it, are the 6 projectors being edge blended to make one continuous screen or some variation of that? if LCD Screen is that being used as your server operating monitor ? The screen for monitoring is that separate from the operation monitor... ?
So if it is that you area having the projectors blended, then best to either go with quadro series cards and sync them up with the hardware to do that, or you can go GTX 1080 Ti and generate 2 x 4K signals and go to 2 Datapath fx4s, which you sync with a blackburst or something of the sort...and that would take care of the projectors and the LED video wall, if you don't sync it all up then you will notice it right away that something is wrong when everything is plugged in and running ...
then you can get the 2 other screens from the 2 other outputs on the GTX 1080 Ti, operation and monitoring...
my 2 cents, bless up

Mapping I have:
Right Mapping - One Independent Projector (no blending)
Mapping Left - One Projector (no blending)
Mapping Downtown Down - One Projector (no blending)
Mapping Center Up - Two Projector (with blending)
LCD monitor is for me to work on resolume.
Another monitor is to see what's coming out in resolume composition - OPTIONAL
My budget is limited. I just have 2k € for system.
I have also to use the infrastructure that is installed (rj45 + extended HDMI network cables for each projector, I can not use the Datapath fx4s, the price of fx4 is also high)
They advised me to buy a 1080Ti for processing, and then another lower graphics card for more outputs. Is this possible and works well?
Can you help me with more information about these sync problems?
I've done some Blending times with:
resolume
- two projectors
- a 1070Ti
Everything worked fine, everything worked.
I have a bit of fear that the computer haven’t enough processing when I want to build some individual slices
Thank you very much for your help.
Re: Video Mapping - 6 Projector + 1 led wall + 1 Screen
This isn’t a good idea. You’ll have all sorts of sync issues.Kristey17 wrote: Wed Aug 22, 2018 18:22

.
Have you read this: https://resolume.com/manual/_media/en/r ... upport.pdf
It’s a good starting point for figuring out multiple outputs.
Would rental be an option? Datapaths can be reasonable to hire.

I had already read this document.
And from what it says in this link the render is done on the board where the monitor is, so if the board that is in the monitor is better, it could then have another one only to have outputs.
I already noticed that there may be synchronization problems. But how can I solve this?
Renting is not an option as this is for a fixed installation.
With 2k what your choice?

Re: Video Mapping - 6 Projector + 1 led wall + 1 Screen
1 Nvidia 1080ti + 2 Datapath FX4 and you’re good to go!
Re: Video Mapping - 6 Projector + 1 led wall + 1 Screen
At €2k I would probably turn the job down as unviable.
Your reputation is only as good as your last install/event and compromise like this leaves you exposed.
Price up a proper system and give them a quote, then at least you can show you know your stuff.

Kristey17, now that I read back through the thread, I think you could probably get away with a 1080ti or 1070ti (even possibly a 1060ti 6GB if your comp is well managed) and a Datapath X4. You can probably find a used one for about $600 and they’re bombproof so you’d be OK with a used unit.
Re: Video Mapping - 6 Projector + 1 led wall + 1 Screen
I agree with all of you, and thank you very much for the help. It makes perfect sense what you say.
But I accepted this condition for a friend.
I think we have a light here at the end of the tunnel. I went to see what was installed here and I think I got a possible solution.
This work had a same image for all projectors. But I think that this could be configured In another way. Here's a Hetec V-Match C9.
This has all the inputs and outputs via DVI. I do not know how to use it but from what I see on the internet this device does what it takes.
1080Ti -> LCD monitor operation + LedWall + OUT for V-Match C9
V-Match C9 -> 5 individual projectors
It’s works?
