Track mattes

Post by techkid »

Hello, anyone has an idea how to manage layers and adjustments in Resolume 7, to fill content in a black and white video-mask? I want to fill content in the white parts and seperatly fill content into the black parts.
I tried the setup in the post from subpixel "Track mattes in Resolume" from 2015, but i seems that Resolume 7 do not support the overlay with video router from a video router layer?
Many thanks

Create 2 groups and a layer outside of the groups at the bottom.

In the single layer at the bottom, add in your greyscale content to be used as the mask.

In group 1's top layer add in a video router that references the bottom layer with the mask content. set this layer to mask mode when you right click the layer.
In the layer below this, add the content you wish to come through.

Repeat the steps above on the second layer but on the top layer of this group, add in an invert rgb fx.

Now you just need to blend the groups and you're set.

how about
play black content on layer 1
play white content on layer 2
set layer 3 to mask one below, and play your mask on that?
