Resolume 7.25 Release 🚀 Individual Clip Transitions 🎯 Slice Transform Effect Update

Post by bart »

We have a little confession to make: our previous release, 7.24, was a bit of a struggle. Our beta testers can confirm that there was a lengthy test period required in which we had to fix quite a bit of regressions and fine-tune the new features.

Frankly, 7.24 was just too big with too many new features to properly oversee it all. We got it to all work properly in the end but it took way longer than we wanted, keeping you waiting for new updates…

So our New Year's resolution for 2026 is to do smaller releases, but more frequently. And this version, 7.25, is an example of that, just a few nice new features and bug fixes, nothing more, nothing less, just perfect, we think. Enjoy!

Individual Transition Time & Blend Mode for Clips
Until now, transition time was something you could set per layer. But many of you told us you wanted more control per clip, because not every clip deserves the same smooth fade. You can now set an individual transition time and blend mode per clip, so you can keep your layer transition consistent while letting special clips enter exactly how you want. To make this work, we've added a Transition tab to the Clip panel.

Scale & Position Parameters in Slice Transform Effect
The Slice Transform effect now includes Scale and Position controls, letting you push, pull and resize slices with a lot more precision. Additionally, slices & screens can now be previewed, just like effects and sources, by double clicking on them in the Slice panel. And because the slice panel can get busy fast, you can now fold or unfold all slice tabs at once with a simple Shift+Click.

Faster, Again and Again and Again
This version, again, runs a bit faster. Especially on big compositions with 40+ layers, 500+ columns, you'll notice loading is faster and going into MIDI/Keyboard mapping is also snappier.

Wire Multi-Node Workflow
"Multi" is the name of the game for this Wire update.
You can now expose inputs and edit attributes for multiple nodes at once.
Renaming gets a boost too: you can rename multiple nodes and use an @ or # suffix to automatically add alphabetical or numerical labels after the name.

Wire Arithmetic Math Shortcuts
We've also added (numpad) shortcuts to insert arithmetic nodes: Add (+), Subtract (-), Multiply (*) and Divide (/). This also works with multiple selected nodes, automatically adding channels and wiring everything up.

Duplicate Node and Keep the Connections
You can now duplicate a node AND keep the connections by pressing SHIFT + D or by dragging a node while holding OPTION/ALT + SHIFT.

Transition is labelled blend more, should be transition type really, to differentiate in a hurry what you are setting. But the fix list looks great, thanks.
Ah, just been trying it out, and once I have set a clip to a defined transition, switching decks to do another clip, and the clip transition stays as the last one set ie layer determined check box is unticked and 'blend mode' remains set, although it doesnt seem to affect the next clips transition, that will get confusing... Each clip needs to be set to determined by default, I'm guessing no value = that, but that the gui doesn't update without a value set?
Should the transition be marked as none changed by the clip like it is with blend mode?

Does this mean we can now have pixel to pixel scaling? As the old slice transform would scale content regardless of if it was pixel to pixel to the slice transform. I had to make my own wire plugin to combat this issue and it’s works great. But native sounds better.

OK, transitions per clip seem very buggy. I've set all of them, go back through my decks, and the values aren't persistent, it seems more like setting per clip slot, not per clip, but even that isn't consistent.
Its seems like some get taken and some dont, I just set a clip to 0 and went through each individually on that layer, switched decks came back and back and a couple were back at the value they had before. Did it again, went back through without switching decks and one was still wrong. I think your dictionary isn't getting updated correctly.

And again, another deck has multiple clips with the wrong values ( that I have used on a different layer, never this one). I'm going to roll back
