H.265 Video

Post by steinman »

I want to play large(40Gb) 4K H.265 encoded video. Arena only shows the AudioStream under "Clip". I have tried this on different 3 PCs(Windwos 10 and 11). Same behavior. 1 PC was a complete fresh install. On my Mac, the video plays correctly.
Legacy Windows Media Player, Media Player and VLC play the video correctly.

the video is from a Gopro Hero 11... no video of the gopro works

Resolume does not play h265 files, h264 is possible but not recommended.
You should convert your footage to dxv3 for best performance.

Resolume plays DXV, and prores natively. Other formats are played through the OS media libraries. If the Windows Movies and TV can play the file there is a good chance, Resolume could too.
You might need to install a third party codec for h265.
Software developer, Sound Engineer,
Control Your show with ”Enter” - multiple Resolume servers at once - SMPTE/MTC column launch

Know this is an old thread but we're moving from ProPresenter to Resolume and got over 1000 files (90Gb) of H.265 background loops which play fine on mac & PC. Got 400 older H264 files which play ok.
Is there any update / fix to getting these to play as don't fancy converting them all.

Thanks
