Hi All,
I like to review all my video files in one application for easier management. However, Windows doesn't recognize DXV (Resolume) or ProRes4444 (Apple), (which are only formats that support Alpha channels). This means no preview is generated, requiring different applications for review, which isn't ideal.
Adobe Bridge, a free tool from Adobe, supports Apple formats but not DXV, leading to the same problem.
However, Dropbox does recognize DXV and other formats! They have revamped their interface to facilitate review workflows. See the attached screenshots of the Resolume render file folder files with Dropbox.
It makes sense to use DXV, considering memory requirments and quality (see attached) and it's amazing that Dropbox can read all the formats. Maybe this was common knowledge, but i wish id known sooner...
Good Luck!
DXV format and Preview Tool
Re: DXV format and Preview Tool
If you're Windows based, there's a shell extension that allows you to preview from your Windows Explorer. OSX I don't think has a solution as apple keeps crewing things up.

For Mac there is this..... which gives you at least thumbnails of the first frame. it still doesn't give a preview, but it's more than just a empty icon.... https://github.com/Marginal/QLVideo#readme
