You load the camera into a layer as a clip, every camera has a layer and then you create as many monitor as the cameras, and then compose your layout, to always have the feed the camera has to be launched as a clip so it is always active, so I switch them using bypass button.

Just to add something that could be helpful to mac users, mac os doesn't use metrics to prioritise it assign priorities to interfaces.
So to change it you could go to system preferences-network-click on the three dots on the right- set service order
Or you could use the terminal with the command ...

Tiping a different duration will slow down or speed up the clip, not trimming the clip itself.
What happend is you right click on the plus or minus button near the editable duration (right click should set back the default values)
