'Cities are never random. No matter how chaotic they might seem, everything about them grows out of a need to solve a problem...'

Traveling through the multi-verse faster than the speed of light, energy and matter become a colourful blur. An abstract set of clips based on the principles of slit-scan photography.

Warning! Do not attempt to adjust your monitors. An unidentified frequency has taken control of the horizontal and vertical wavelengths of your signal.

Based on the principles of the WW1 dazzle camouflage, these clips use perspective and misdirection to bring visual trickery into your VJ set.

Step inside the inside - into a place where the laws of the universe twist and bend, where you can catch a glimpse of the very fabric of the cosmos.

After rewiring a broken test subject from the 1970's we were able to retrieve the following video images...

Carolina S. Otero

Carol was born on a beautiful and hot summer day in Madrid in 1983. From a young age she always liked to tinker with the computer and virtual worlds but after a while she also started flirting with the artistic world. These events materialized in the year of the Lord in 2005, when she began her studies in Fine Arts at the UCM and ended 5 years later at the University of Cuenca. The result was the Image specialization, and of course, the beginning of her career as VJ. Along with other training (camera operator ENG, Motion Graphics, C4d, After Effects, assistance to film production and a long etc), extensive artistic knowledge and numerous work experiences, she managed to be Director of Contents and VJ of We Party; (International Gay Party) and work as a vj in places like Paris, London, Portugal, Mykonos; advising assemblies in New York, Miami, Mexico and Italy among others. And of course working in Spain, with an operations center in the lively Madrid night, and also entertaining festivals, concerts and other events throughout Spain. Her interest in stage design according to spatial requirements or the technical rider of the venue has also been part of professional baggage since for her the image is important, but also in the context in which it operates. She is a person who does not enclose herself in a certain style but likes to collect, abstract, assimilate different references, trying to create a coherent discourse. As a curious and super hard worker that she is, she will always want to know more and more, collaborate more and more, and above all learn, learn, learn to conquer us, be ecstatic or have fun with her work. Art and culture for all!

Another day, another sleigh.

Red and white rhythmical loops from our master of bpm, Carolina S Otero.

See you in Carolina's nightmares!

Buildings and communication towers with red and black graphic elements.

A collection of classical sculptures touching each other and glitching.

VJ Catmac decided to discontinue his doctoral studies in the Psychology of Perception in order to immediately begin generating visual material and share his passion with those who attend his sessions. He began in 2007 by projecting visuals at night onto the buildings adjacent to his Madrid studio, to the great surprise of the people passing by. Thereafter, he began touring the scene in Madrid, performing at underground events and at private parties. VJ Catmac has also worked on small and large-scale 3D-Mapping projects, but he has dedicated most of his time specializing in the creation of a personal visual language. This unconventional project retains all the elements necessary in order to elicit the esoteric synergy between image, movement and sound.

Abstract landscapes not so abstract anymore.

Full screen loops made using displacement maps generated with procedural textures.

Abstract, organic motions loops kissed by the sun and held closely by the blue sky.

Dan Chelger

Filmmaker, Audiovisual Teacher and Visualist. His artistic ouvre is manly abstract, based on several analog and A/D techniques, using vision mixers, FX processors, hardware video synths, bendings and DYI developments. For him, the creative process must involve principles like recycling, restoration and re purposing of obsolete technologies. Also he considers that live visual performance must be deeply tactile, just like with music instruments.

Digital imitating analog.

Dan Chelger is on a mission to bring the analog back from the digital.

From the Videologies creator...

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain Ghosteam speaking. We are ready to take you on a voyage. Where it leads, no one knows. But isn’t the journey always more important than the destination?

BeatMachines has everything that a good VJ pack needs. Rhythmical animation, simple colour scheme, slick 3D and an insane attention to detail.

The rendering of NeonRoom is so hyperrealistic, you can almost hear the clickeity-clack of the neon tubes turning on and off. Combined with a tight colour scheme, this pack is a shining beacon of light in the darkness.

Sometimes you don't want subtlety, sometimes you don't want finesse. Sometimes you just want your pink pixels to stomp all over that screen.

Take 25 minimal loops. Add a tight colour scheme. Stir in a dash of glitch. Mix it all up and cook at 60 fps. Sprinkle liberally with style. Dinner Time!

CIRCUIT 5 VISUALS was the delightfully irresponsible waste of a perfectly good M.F.A. in Film from USC undertaken by one Jonathan Bernbaum, a rascal of ill repute highly suspected of high crimes and misdemeanors by the reality police, and a weirdo who liked to tickle every synapse with arrangements of light and juxtapositions of crazy images. Jonathan was a visual wizard who blew minds. He split his time VJing his beloved Bay Area underground and touring internationally with Knife Party, Markus Schulz and V Squared Labs. He died tragically at the age of 34 in the Oakland Ghost Ship Fire, December 2nd, 2016. At the time of his death, Jonathan was widely considered one of the world’s foremost visual projection artists.

UON Visuals

UON Visuals is an ongoing project started by self-taught animator Mike Voskakis in 2013. The goal is to replicate the complex geometric visuals the brain generates during psychedelic states of mind. Using math formulas to drive the geometry, motion and color of his animations, his work quickly started going viral on social media. With such a high demand for his content he opened up a store and used the funds to buy better hardware for even more complex renders. At this point he has 3 computers loaded with 7 GPUs that render 24 hours a day for fully raytraced visuals, creating a total of over 1800 loops since he started. His work is seen at live shows and festivals around the world, and he has since done custom work for musicians such as Excision, Jon Hopkins, PNAU and LSDREAM as well as experimenting with creating VR/360 and High Dynamic Range content. As computer technology advances he hopes to always be pushing it to its absolute limits to show the world the true depth of both mathematics and the human mind.
