We found this originally in Dec of 2024.

It turned out to be a slow SSD drive from the computer manufacturer.

We went with a Mac Studio M3 and it fixed everything. Just make sure the drive is plenty capable of playing back high bit rate 4K files and that solved it.

I would classify it as going blank. Just a black screen. Not the "no signal" display either. Just blank.

I can confirm that no cables are being unplugged or re-plugged to trigger this issue. It's all in a server rack and the client never reaches in to change anything. There is also no USB hub in the way it's direct to the computer using the OEM USB C cable.
